Every Life Deserves to Be Recorded

The first post on my WeChat account: a note to myself about writing, growth, and becoming who I truly am.

This is the first post on this WeChat account, written for myself.

I once thought myself extraordinary, yet I remain ordinary to this day. The words I have read and the lessons I have heard seem not to have been enough to put my life on the fast track.

Looking back on the moments that moved and inspired me, I began to see what kind of person I really am. I love reading about growth. I admire people who share wisdom with a certain radiance: Tal Ben-Shahar, who taught Harvard's course on happiness; a professor who taught traditional culture when I was at university; and the authors of the two books that have given me the most over the past two years, Cognitive Awakening and The Almanack of Naval Ravikant.

Every life holds infinite possibilities. Never give up the right to change and grow. Do not let any part of your past hold you back. We are born for greatness.

Why start writing?

Because every life, however small, deserves to be recorded. Because words have a life of their own and can travel across time and space. Because I want to be like all the people who have moved and inspired me—we are the same kind of people. Because I intend to live this life earnestly. I want to become who I truly am.
